Agiboo case study

AGIBOO leverages XPLICITY superior software development services at an attractive cost level.

ABOUT AGIBOO

Agiboo develops and markets commodity, trading/purchase and risk management software solutions (CTRM) for the agricultural commodity market. Frustrated at that time that only expensive and inflexible solutions were available for large traders or by using simple spreadsheets only, an experienced group of professionals in commodity trading for many and many years, combined with technology-savvy developers, founded Agiboo. The result is Agiboo’s flagship platform called Agiblocks. The unique value proposition of Agiblocks is the functional diversification (modularity, configurability), the scalability and the flexible integration possibilities (e.g. third-party accounting, ERP and trade systems). Based on a flexible architecture, new functionalities are constantly added to Agiblocks.

THE CHALLENGE

Agiboo’s success in the market is mainly based on the user friendliness of the solution. It is built by commodity traders for commodity traders. Because Agiblocks include a broad range of complex commodity trading functionality, subject matter knowledge when developing the system is essential. The ease of use through a friendly user interface and the unique option to run the platform on both desktops as well as on mobile devices demands a fast and agile software development process. Agiblocks is built on an open and flexible architecture, allowing Agiboo to not only quickly add new specific functionality but also to implement existing functionality to the specific needs of the different customers if needed through implementation services Agiboo offers.

THE SOLUTION

Since November 2018 Agiboo and Xplicity in Lithuania have created a unique partnership where Xplicity, together with Agiboo has selected and continuously selects first class local software developers and where Agiboo delivers and invest in specific complex subject matter commodity trading training for these developers.

THE RESULT

The result is a team that was able to quickly adapt to the new environment and started to deliver first deliverables after two months. As Agiboo plans to have more Agiblocks functionality developed by Xplicity in Lithuania, Xplicity now builds dedicated development teams with commodity domain knowledge. These new teams will be able to quickly contribute to application development in the commodity and trading domain.
