In order to increase Total Logistics productivity, we have developed a new system for cargo transferring requests. Therefore, now it has more functionalities and became more flexible.
THE PROBLEM
Our client Total Logistics needed a solution for cargo transfer requests. Until this day, the company received requests for transfers through their website, which was lacking functionality. In order to increase productivity, we have developed a new system for transferring requests. It now has more functionalities and flexibility.
METHODOLOGY
After analyzing the whole situation, we decided to use the WPF framework with the MVVM design pattern. That was the most suitable technological way to fulfill our client’s needs and dynamic system requirements. We chose the Agile project development method, as it’s very effective.
IMPLEMENTED FUNCTIONALITIES
After the system was deployed users now can:
- Create new freight forward offers.
- Perform automated load search.
- Perform manual load search.
- Call clients without performing any action.
- Edit/Delete/Clone freight forwarding offers and searches.
- Automatically get information if the chosen cargo posting time is available and matches with a chosen time zone (real time checking).
- Get suggestions for the shortest route and see them on the map.
- Change individual freight forwarding, auto calling and auto search settings.
- Add company into the blacklist and edit it.
THE RESULTS
Eventually, this solution helped Total Logistics to process requests faster without wasting time on additional search of information. In addition, some of the functions’ automation has eliminated, or at least reduced to the minimum, a number of human-made errors possibility. For example, no more longer cargo delivery processing due to a route miscalculation. Moreover, now you can easily manage chosen data (such as insolent clients’ status update or finding automated loads). Although currently this platform is used solely by our client, it could be a very convenient tool for all users who benefit from individual cargo transferring in the USA.
