Nanny Cay Data Transfer Solution

Caribbean company Nanny Cay needed a solution for retrieving and converting their data from shop and warehouse to specific format, which after had to be uploaded to supply chain planning platform.

GOALS

Seeing that need, both companies analyzed the problem and set goals for this project. The main ones were:

  • Retrieve data from Nanny Cay online products management system.
  • Convert data to specific format, requested by supply chain planning platform.
  • Create user interface for managing what data should be retrieved.
  • Finally, to upload converted data to supply chain planning platform.

THE SOLUTION

Initially, to ensure the success of all process our team defined that developers will use Scrum/Agile methods to manage the whole project. Then, 2-week sprints with demonstrations for the client were set. In order to simplify the end product data was not stored in a database. Instead, intermediate results were stored locally before uploading them to a cloud platform (supply chain planning).

In order to achieve the best result Xplicity used ASP.NET Core for implementing  this solution. Also we took care of client web’s UI. We have selected ASP.NET Core to enable user hosting web app on any platform for windows IIS or Linux (apache, nginx). Eventually, the final product version allowed working without user input. Finally, team together made a decision to create a simple web UI for user add configuration and overview the task, which is in progress.

THE RESULT

With implemented solutions Nanny Cay could easily retrieve and convert data for managing further processes. That helped to easier plan related supply chain functions on the platform. Also, they had an improved user interface, which solved some data filtering issues.
