This year, Xplicity established an internship program to create software the world lacks. The idea was presented by Marius Radvilavicius, instructor of Japanese martial art – Kendo at Kyumeikan Kendo school and senior developer here at Xplicity.

Here, at Xplicity we encourage our talents to share their ideas for software and often enough, we bring them to life. This year, Xplicity established an internship program to create software the world lacks. The idea was presented by Marius Radvilavicius, instructor of Japanese martial art – Kendo at Kyumeikan Kendo school and senior developer here at Xplicity.

Kendo is hard training and principles of the Japanese sword – katana. The art of Kendo helps you to develop your character and personality. According to Marius, it enables you to be a better daughter or son, husband or wife, human, a citizen of the country. It teaches you to know yourself, push your limits and overcome obstacles you meet throughout life.

For already three years in a row, Kyumeikan kendo school in Kaunas is organizing annual Kendo tournament in the loving memory of C. Sugihara. The tournament will take place on March 17th in Kaunas, and this year it will be slightly different.

Most of Kendo tournaments are scored based on the same scoring structure manually, e.g., by hand. To help automate this tiring process, Xplicity interns led by Marius are creating a universal Kendo administering and scoring software. The software will be able to process registration forms, split participants into groups, and generate brackets for each fight. It will be easier for the judges to write protocols and track the progress of the tournament. The score of each fight will be projected onto screens.  The software will benefit Kendo tournaments worldwide by providing efficiency and automation.

3rd annual Kendo tournament in memory of C. Sugihara is around the corner. During the tournament, new administering and scoring system will be presented and tested. Afterwards, the interns will continue to improve the system and then it will be available to use in every Kendo tournament worldwide.

Xplicity is glad to be the main sponsor of the event and the creator of the software. It’s the fresh and innovative ideas like this one that drives the world of technology further.
